This old mill..

When interior designer Marie-Laure Helmkampf found an old oil mill in the South of France she was smitten. Though most of the original structure had to be rebuilt completely, Marie-Laure managed to retain a lot of the original character & charm. The rusticity of the traditional stone work, the exposed natural wood, & organic textures mixed with sleek modern lines, and abundance of natural light have resulted in a warm, inviting and relaxed home.

A place to spend happy times with friends and family for sure..!

I love those old warehouses, mills, barns converted to homes, but kept with original features.

Just saw an interesting show of a huge old crop warehouse restored as a home, reminded quite much of this lovely building.

We are reaching nearly 30 C today! What a lovely start for summer!

Dear Charlotta,

Hello! Your page has been having trouble loading on my computer. I didn't want you to think I wasn't visiting anymore :) I decided to stick to it this morning until it did! So I just go caught up on all your lovely posts :) I love everything!! The Sunday sunshine was a warm a fuzzy post. I am so excited that summer is almost here! It basically is, but I don't kick it off until school is out on Friday!! Woo hoo. I can't wait for our summer travels and enjoying friends and family. This featured home doesn't look like anything we will be visiting, but I sure do find it inspiring. It's so simple, yet so grand. It is so unassuming, yet so confidently chic. Love, love, love it!!

XO,

Kelly

I love the idea of creating a new home in a building that was once used for another purpose. What a lovely job she has done combining the old and new! Hope you are having a lovely weekend Charlotta. Nicolex

Hard to be unhappy in that house!

It is hard to get back to blogging after a few weeks off - but it is good to be back here!
